Madison Andrews

Patient Care Coordinator

Pronouns: She/Her

I’m Madison, a Patient Care Coordinator with five years of experience in residential and inpatient psychiatric settings. My dedication to mental health started in the winter of 2009 when my father was wounded overseas while serving in the US Air Force. As my family became accustomed to our new normal, I set out to learn more. From fifth grade on, all my school projects were about mental health! In college, I narrowed my studies down to examine the impact of trauma through the lens of developmental and personality psychology. I believe it is crucial to recognize the whole-person without judgment and that everyone deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported, especially while pursuing mental wellness!

I aim to become a therapist. Some approaches that I plan to specialize in are DBT, CBT, EMDR, person-centered, and art therapies. My ideal population includes military veterans and their families, emergency service workers, and disaster survivors. Like the people who helped my father and our family, it is my goal to provide a safe space for people to acclimate to life after trauma.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and am trained in crisis de-escalation, person-centered and trauma-informed care, and acute psychiatric practices. My work experience includes equine-assisted therapy, children’s residential behavioral health, adult eating disorder inpatient, adult inpatient acute psychiatric, and psychiatric emergency departments. Whether as a care coordinator, nursing assistant or behavioral health therapist, my favorite part of any role is getting to know clients and watching them achieve their goals!

Outside the Office

While I’m out of the office, I stay busy with all manner of hobbies. I enjoy cooking, baking, sewing, dabbling in alternative healing, gardening, carpentry, and art. I have four fur babies: three cats (Monkey, Daisy, Tofu) and a dog (Opal). I also have a countless number of snails and microfauna in a self-sustaining freshwater tank. Supporting me and my wild myriad of interests is my wonderful fiancé. We enjoy antique hunting, foraging hikes, binging TV shows, and caring for tons of house plants together.
